9.7. Team Championship

 

1. The NSA Squash Team Championship 2023 will take place in June, at "TASOS PAPADOPOULOS-ELEFTHERIA" the sports center, from Monday to Friday (18:00 to 21:00). The exact dates will be determined after the end of the submission period of individual entries.

2. Participation is open to all players (NSA registered members or non-registered).

3. The Organizing Committee will consist of Marios Katsioloudis, Minos Georgiou, Yiannis Pahitas, the Tournament Director, and the team captains. In the event of an objection, the teams or persons involved will not have the right to participate in the decision-making.

5. The participation fee is set at €25 for seniors and €15 for juniors, while for All-Inclusive Membership Package holders, participation is free.

6. Players enter the tournament at their own risk and compete with personal responsibility and insurance coverage. The Nicosia Squash Association, Cyprus Squash Rackets Association, and sponsors bear no responsibility for either injury arising from participation, or loss of property in this event. It is strongly recommended that ALL participants hold a valid Health Certificate issued by Cyprus Sports Authority. In different cases, players should submit a Disclaimer relieving the organizers and sponsors of any liability with respect to accidents and injuries that might occur during the event.

7. Registrations:

7.1. Individual entries

Players should submit their individual entries by 26/05/2023 at 19:00. Entries are submitted online through https://forms.office.com/r/F1AKXWa8Gq

7.2. Announcement of a list of participants.

A list of the names of all participants will be announced on 28/05/2023 for players to form their teams.  Assistance will be provided if needed.

7.3. Teams’ formation.

Final Teams’ formation should be submitted by 01/06/2023 at 19:00.

8. In the Team’s formation statement, the team captain, the names of the athletes as well as their ranking should be clearly stated.

8.1 The ranking of athletes should be according to the NSA Squash League League|R4 results. For players who have not participated in the NSA Squash League and entered the Championship, the NSA Technical Committee will decide their classification. 

8.2. The number of players and substitutes, the teams will consist of, will be determined on 28/05/2023 along with the list of the names of all participants.

8.3. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to limit the number of substitutes per team to maintain numerical equivalence between them. In case this is requested, the team will provide the names of the athletes who will leave the team.

8.4. Each player is only allowed to join one team.

8.5. No replacement of an athlete will be allowed after the submission of the team’s formation.

9. A “Meeting” is defined as all the matches played between 2 teams.

10. A “Match” is played between players, competing against each other, as per their ranking (see regulation 7).

11. Meeting schedule will be posted on our website by 02/06/2023 and 19:00.

11.1. If a Team cannot play its matches on the scheduled day, an alternative day may be assigned only with the approval of the Organizing Committee and the agreement of the opposing team. Games should be rescheduled as a whole.

11.2. The new assigned day should be prior to the following matchday obligation of both teams.

12. All teams will compete against each other, once, in a Round-robin system.

13. Each match will be scored with 3 points for a win, and 1 point for a loss. 0 (zero) points will be entered in case of disqualification/cancellations.

14. The results should be submitted before the following match day. In case of a delay, the teams that did not comply with the schedule will be zeroed.

15. All matches must have a referee (unless otherwise agreed by the 2 teams). Referees will be appointed by both teams under the responsibility of the captains. Each team will appoint 2 referees. If a team fails to appoint a referee, then the Organizing Committee may cancel the match and award 3 points to the team that complied with the regulations and zero (0) points to the team that failed to do so.

16. Teams must be at the courts 20 minutes prior to the starting time of the meeting. In case of a delay from a team, of more than 5 minutes from starting to playtime, the Organizing Committee may cancel the game or games or the meeting as a whole, and award 3-0 points for each match, accordingly.

17. At each meeting, the team captains should declare the names of the players competing as per their ranking, complying with regulation 7.1. This should be examined and agreed upon by both team captains before the meeting start.

18. At the end of each meeting, the two captains will have to check the match report and sign it. In case a captain fails to sign, it will be taken as acceptance of the result.

19. In case of disagreement, a dispute must be filed in writing to the Organizing Committee within 24 hours, where a decision will be taken. The decision of the committee will be final.

20. Players must contact their team captains and they in turn contact the Tournament Director. In the case the issue is not resolved, the matter is forwarded to the Organizing Committee to resolve the issues that arise. Communication and information will take place between the Organizing Committee, Tournament Director, and the team captains.

21. The balls to be used are Dunlop Revelation Pro and will be provided by the organizers.

22. At the end of the championship, the winning team will receive a trophy, and each (winner) player will receive a commemorative plaque. All participants will receive a souvenir of the event.

23. The prize award ceremony will be held during a social gathering, after the completion of the Championship, with the date and place to be announced at a later stage.
